This presentation includes different roles of the Information Technology in the present world. The focus is mainly on expanding the role of IT in different sectors, highlighting the positives and negatives related to the role of IT in Environmental and Human health, understands the potential impacts of IT on Environmental Health, the future well-being in Tech-Saturated world. Market has a variety of soft wares which can be used for better learning outcomes. We will elaborate these software’s in detail.

Role Of IT In Environmental and Human Health
Information Technology What do you think it is ?
U se of any computer software, storage, networking and processes to create, manipulate, distribute and disseminate information. D ifferent from the actual term ‘technology’ since it isn’t based on knowledge and derives its value from data. Communication , internet, servers, software, security, database, hardware, applications are certain examples of IT. H as an upper hand in improving the status of environmental education and human health.
IT IN ENVIRONMENT What are the tools used? Do you know any examples?
Tools: Databases The National Management Information System (NMIS) The Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Remote Sensing Geographical Information System (GIS) World Wide Web (WWW)
Databases Wildlife database, forest cover database, and conservation database etc. The databases for some diseases are also available which include diabetes, malaria, fluorosis, HIV/AIDS , etc. Computerized collection of connected data on some subjects which can be retrieved at any hour of the day whenever needed.
The National Management Information System (NMIS) A ssembled a database on research and development projects along with information about research scientists and personnel involved.
The Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has developed an information System called Environmental Information System (ENVIS). Headquartered in Delhi, it functions in 25 different centers all over the country. The ENVIS centers work for generating a huge network of databases in areas like controlling pollution, remote sensing, ecology, biodiversity, renewable energy, desertification, wildlife, mangroves, mining etc.
Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) A ccesses through satellites which can be used to access the ongoing activities in the environment as well as to predict the natural hazards before time (floods, cyclones, droughts, volcanic eruptions). Most useful techniques in exploring the availability of mineral deposits, crude oil, and locating other geothermal powerhouses. Important for weather forecasts, climate change or natural disasters.
GIS or geographic information system consider as one thematic (related) maps with the help of digital data on a large scale of interconnected aspects. of the most effective tools in the entire environmental management topic. It is a process of superimposing different thematic maps are placed in layered prospectus in the computer with the help of a software. These maps contain digital information and database on various elements such as forest land, water resources, soil type, cropland, industrial growth, human settlement, and industrial growth, etc. Designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage and present all types of spatial or geographical data. Science underlying geographic concepts, applications and systems. Can use GIS to study the environment, report on the phenomena and model the working and responding of environment to natural and man-made factors.
World Wide Web(WWW) Internet is a vast platform for all the users which are connected to it . World Wide Web (WWW) has a huge role in environmental studies, with material on every aspect, class-room activities, and digital files of photos, power-point presentations, animated videos, web-exercises and quiz has proved to be useful for both students and teachers of environmental studies.
What are the tools used? Do you know any examples? IT IN HUMAN HEALTH
Human Health IT can be used for audio, visual and data communications for medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, nursing and medical education. Used for creating biological databases Biometrics Telemedicine Broadcasting & Spreading awareness
Health the state of being free from illness or injury . It doesn’t only include the parameters of absence of disease or fragility but also social and mental well-being.
Databases Health centers have improved in storing data related to birth rates & death rates, databases of diseases like malaria, asthma, AIDS etc. DNA database, medical records, biometrics etc. Can be assessed and stored.
National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is a database which stores genome information, protein information, nucleotide, genotypes and so forth. Protein Information Bank (PDB) includes PCR databases , Metabolic pathways, RNA, Protein, communication , databases and so on.
Biometrics Biometric verification is utilized in computer science as a type of access control and identification. Additionally , used to recognize people in bunches under observation. Accurate to depict and mark people. Unique finger impression, Iris scanning and face imaging alongside statistic information of an individual is compiled.
Telemedicine Telemedicine is a very important tool used in clinical health care It helps us communicate with patients over long distances. Helps to overcome the distance and saves individuals in critical conditions and emergency cases. Nowadays media has become a major requirement in any aspect of life.
Broadcasting & Spreading Awareness Media helps to spread public awareness Increases our knowledge about certain diseases Specifies preventive measures which should be taken. Isolation is one of the significant step in controlling profoundly infectious diseases
General Examples Of Tools Used I n Health Care Electronic Medical Records (EMR ) - provides real-time access to a clinician of a patient. Online Medicinal Prescriptions - Medicinal prescriptions can be given via computer system. This can overcome the distance problems. Remote Monitoring - Transmission of health care data either entered directly by a patient or through a medical device to a clinician.
Conclusion With the help of IT, it is possible to transform environmental and human health care. We are able to predict the ongoing changes or determine what will happen in the coming future. I mprove living standards by increasing the efficiency of patient safety by better information technology. IT helps in lowering the cash flow in certain Hospitals which are moving towards information systems.
