Meaning of Packaging: It is a process that speaks a company’s ability to contain economically man-made products for shipment, storage, sale or final use. It includes the activities of wrapping or creating the product for performing the market functions more easily. In other words, the packaging is the act of housing a product in packages. It contains in like tins, cans, bags, jars, bottles, boxes, keys, casts etc.
FUNCTIONS OF PRODUCT PACKAGING PROVIDES PROTECTION TO CONTENT The basic function of packaging is to protect the particular content. It protects to a content from damage, dust, dirt, leakage etc. The contents are fresh, clean and unaffected. So packaging of a product is helpful to provide the protection to the particular product or a content. ATTRACTIVENESS Packaging increase the appearance of the product. The design, color, printing combinations are special means of attracting customers. The packaging also creates impressions of richness, luxury, and exclusiveness by using packages. CONTAINMENT Packaging provides space in which the product is contained. For example, vegetables can be boiled in the bags in which they are packaged.
