G raphic organizers are visually organize information that shows how ideas relate to one another. Different kinds of graphic organizers include mind maps, Venn diagrams, flow charts, and hierarchical topical organizers.
Different Kinds of Graphic Organizers Mind map - used to represent knowledge of a concept or idea. It is useful for brainstorming and exploring topics or ideas. Venn Diagram - used to show the similarities and differences between two or more people, objects, or ideas. Flow chart - used to show the different steps in a process. Hierarchical topical organizer - shows the order of ideas and their place in a hierarchy.

Steps in Organizing Information by Using Any Graphic Organizer Think of a general topic for writing. Brainstorm ideas based on the topic and write them down. Select a graphic organizer to arrange your ideas.

Form five groups. Each group should think of a government agency and the service it provides. Construct a creative flowchart that will suggest a more efficient delivery of service of your chosen government agency. Choose two members of your group to present your work to the class.
After the activity, answer the following questions: What were the challenges you faced in creating your flowcharts? How does your knowledge of creating graphic organizers contribute to your creative presentation of flowcharts?
Assignment Think of one goal you wish to achieve in the next five years of your life. Create a graphic organizer that will show how you will be able to reach your goal. Below the graphic organizer, write a ten-sentence paragraph explaining the details in your chosen graphic organizer.
