What is energy? Energy is something that must be changed or transferred to do work. Unit of energy is joule , J . Sometimes Kilojoule , Kj is used when the energy is so much. 1 kilojoule is equal to 1000 joules We need energy to do sports , write notes, drive a car , sit down , to sing, play , dance etc.

Running requires energy

Energy forms video, NGSS

Energy descriptions in a video

Energy stores Some energy can easily be stored than others. For example, it is very easy to store chemical energy (in coal or rice)

Energy stores For example, gravitational potential energy ( Raised water tank at home) .

Energy stores But some energy forms are difficult to store. For example, thermal energy gets easily lost to the environment.

Energy stores For example, kinetic energy of objects is easily lost with respect to time. The tennis ball will eventually stop moving
