Safe Driving Strategies: Saving Lives on the Highway Prepared by: Nithin Ravi (Project Manager) Prepared for: Conestoga Student INC. Date: 19/04/2024

INTRODUCTION Welcome to my presentation on "Safe Driving Strategies: Saving Lives on the Road." At Conestoga, we recognize the vital significance of road safety, specifically for our students. With the increasing risks on highways and roads, executing practical approaches to protect lives and ensure safe travels is essential. Today, we will explore the urgent need for driving safety endeavors and how our suggested strategies can make a considerable difference in protecting the well-being of our society.

RATIONALE There has been a significant growth in the number of road accidents concerning college students, which is a reason for the problem. It is essential for us to prioritize the protection of our student society in light of these disturbing statistics. By addressing this issue, we not only display our dedication to the welfare of our students but also mitigate the possible legal disadvantages that Conestoga may encounter as an outcome of these accidents.

RATIONALE Market/Industry Research:   According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motor vehicle crashes are leading to the cause of death for young people aged 15-24. Competitor Research:  Universities across North America are implementing driving safety initiatives to address similar concerns.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AND SCOPE

STRENGTHS AND RISKS STRENGTHS Many individuals will probably support our efforts as they already want safer roads. We can get more resources and ideas by collaborating with other organizations, such as the government and community groups. People can better understand why safe driving is essential and how they can help by having clear communication.

STRENGTHS AND RISKS RISKS Individuals may not wish to modify their driving behaviors. Creating new laws or modifying current ones may be difficult or met with criticism. RISK MITIGATION Create engaging educational initiatives that inform the public about the importance of safe driving habits and emphasize the advantages of welcoming safer behaviors on the road.

SUMMARY Conestoga College acknowledges the vital role of road safety education for students The program aims to mitigate the growing trend of road accidents among college students. Market research indicates the urgent need for such initiatives.
