In the Philippines, children with the age of 5 and 15, around 10% to 15% of children experience mental health challenges, and approximately 16.8% of Filipino students aged 13 to 17 attempted suicides at least once within a year before the 2015 Global School-based Student Health Survey, (World Health Organization). According to the Department of Education (DepEd), a total of 404 young students in various parts of the country took their own lives, and 2,147 others attempted suicide during the 2021-2022 academic school year. Teachers play a special role in helping students. On average, teachers spend about 900 hours a year with their students, making them someone whom they trust, look up to, and feel safe with, especially if they're going through a tough time (Classroom Mental Health). Teachers recognize how mental health influences student growth and development at the primary level and feel a responsibility to improve student mental health yet face barriers in mental health education, resources, and services. The present study seeks to explore the perspectives and experiences of classroom advisers in addressing the needs of intermediate students with mental health challenges in Legazpi District, with a focus on understanding the specific objectives outlined below; 1. Identify the specific challenges faced by classroom advisers in teaching intermediate students with mental health challenges 2. Examine the impact of these challenges on the well-being and teaching efficacy of classroom advisers 3. Explore the measures and strategies currently employed by classroom advisers to address the needs of intermediate students with Mental health challenges 4. Provide suggested interventions to address the identified challenges to support the classroom advisers in effectively teaching intermediate students with mental health challenges SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES PROPOSAL DEFENSE
