knowledge, attitude and conduct relating to personal and
community health.

School Health Service
•School health services included all school
activities and procedure designed to affect the
present health status of the children. This is
composed of appraisal of students health,
prevention and control of diseases, prevention
and correction of physical defects, health
guidance and supervision and emergency
care.

Objectives of school health service
•The main objective of school health service is to protect and
promote the health status of school family. To achieve the above
goal the following are other objectives:-
•iTo promote, maintain and contribute to the understanding of
the health of the student.
•ii.To appraise the health status of the student through screening
tests and health examination.
•iii.To adjust school programmesto meet the needs of special
groups.
•iv.To counsel and advise students, parents and teachers
regarding health or behavioral problems.
•v.To provide emergency services for students who have been
injured or who have become ill at school.
•vi.To co-ordinate its efforts with those of all community health
groups interested in the health of the students.
