An Introduction to the School Observation Report:
This assignment under the broad heading “SCHOOL OBSERVATION” enables us to reflect
upon and make the most of their previous school experiences. It also enables to develop an
understanding of the nurturant and deterrent aspect of school environment and conceptual
understanding about the teaching and learning in school environment. This project meant to
acquaint the overall functioning of the school which constitutes academic and non-academic
functioning, school administration and management. It is divided into three different
workshops for the systematic observation of the overall functioning of the school:-
1. School reflections
2. School as an organised system
3. School as learning environment
Under these three workshops we observed the school, got the related information about
infrastructure, the overall atmosphere of the school, its functioning, management,
administration, and all the curricular and co-curricular activities by interaction to school
members, nearby locality, and by seeing the school records and presented all that information
as it is without any biasness in this assignment. This assignment is just an overview of the all
that.
I observed Gyankosh - A global School, Akoda, Mahendragarh. In the 6 days of observation
of school, we observed the school teachers, got the opportunity to learn about such exuberant
students of that particular school, learnt to manage the class, get acquainted not only with
infrastructure, overall atmosphere of the school, school members, functioning of school,
management, administration, and how these all the elements are co- related with each other
and importance of each element. We observed various co-curricular activities like painting
competition, poem recitation, singing and dancing, various sports events, awareness
programme. This report is reflection of all these things and includes valuable suggestions for
the improvement of the school.
Teaching is the centre of all education related topics. So as a student of the Institute of
Education & Research, we had to teach in real classroom environment. Before starting
teaching in a real classroom environment, it helps a practice teacher to acquaint them with the
process, method, of teaching if they observe a class of a certain level before entering a class
as a teacher.

SCHOOL OBSERVATION REPORT
In the month of April, I had the opportunity of visiting the Gyankosh - A global School,
Akoda, Mahendragarh as a part of our School Observation Internship. The primary objective
of the internship was to gain real experience of school teaching and to understand the overall
working culture of the school. The week long internship from 1
st
to 6
th
April was highly
productive and taught me and my peers so much about the administrative, infrastructural,
academic and pedagogical challenges we might face shortly. This enriching experience has
created new perspectives and understanding about the functioning of a school as well as the
role of a teacher in the classroom and outside the classroom.
A group of Twenty pupil-teacher trainees under the supervision of our teacher, Dr. Ashish
Dhawan visited the Gyankosh - A Global School, Akoda, Mahendragarh and observed the
classes, administration, infrastructure and the overall functioning of the school. We were
divided into numerous groups and sent to various classes to attend the lessons delivered by
the expert teachers of Gyankosh - A global School, Akoda, . The warm hospitality of the
school management was surprising and revealed the excellent culture of the school. During
our weeklong visit we were introduced to the various challenges, intricacies as well as the
Joys of being a part of the Gyankosh - A global School Fraternity. The Principal and Vice-
Principal of the school, Mr Ramnivas Yadav and Tanu Yadav took time out of their busy
schedule to give us insights into the school’s culture and also discussed with us various
challenges faced by the academia today. Moreover, they even asked us of our inputs and
suggestions about the school. The following report is a detailed record of our experience at
Gyankosh - A global School, Akoda, Mahendragarh.

ABOUT GYANKOSH - A GLOBAL SCHOOL,
AKODA, MAHENDRAGARH
GYANKOSH - A GLOBAL SCHOOL was established in the year 2022 and is located in the

the need of establishing a school in Mahendergarh District of Haryana in the fond memory of
their late grandparents. The consensus was that the district of Mahendergarh needed an
institution where traditions of the ancient Gurukul system strike the right balance with state-

FACILITIES OF SANITATION AND CLEANLINESS

GYANKOSH -A Global School, Mahendragarh puts hygiene and sanitation on a
priority basis. A team of sweepers or workers is working constantly to keep school
premises neat and clean all the time. So that’s why the complete GYANKOSH -A
Global School, Akoda, Mahendragarh family is healthy, fit, and fine. Just like
education, hygiene and Sanitation are also the most important practices that everyone
must have done daily. It is most essential for good health. It includes washing hands,
cutting hair/nails timely, bathing, brushing, and so on.
As far as concern, sanitation means drinking purified water, proper sewage
treatment so on. Even though, all the effective tools and actions that help us in
maintaining the environment neat and clean come under the sanitation process. But
personal hygiene means keeping our body clean, and consumption of clean drinking
water all the time. As far as concern, public hygiene refers to discarding waste and
excreta properly by using effective methods. In detail, it means to segregation of the
waste and recycling, regular disinfection, and maintenance of the city’s water reservoir
every week. Apart from this, the quality of hygiene in the Canteen matters a lot because
it is extremely important to prevent diseases of all kinds.
Separate toilets for boys and girls were available
Child-friendly and sustainable safe drinking water and adequate water for hand-washing

was available. In addition, water for school cleaning was available adequately.
Each class was allotted different areas of the school campus where dusting, cleaning and
sweeping was done. Students not only resolved to clean the school but also pledged to

and well-lit as the windows are glass. The electricity supply to the room is sufficient to
run all the electric appliances like tube lights, fans, projectors, microphones, and speaker.

WATER FACILITIES
The provision of water at schools is one of the highly effective practices in increasing access
and learning outcomes. In addition to the necessity of water to maintain personal and
environmental hygiene, reducing student dehydration in schools has been associated with
improved cognitive abilities.
According to a recent report by Geological Survey of India (GSI), Mahendragarh district of
Haryana state has been identified as Red Alert Zone for high fluoride. Therefore, it is
important for schools to provide quality water for drinking. On the other hand, 14 out of 22
districts of Haryana are battling water crisis. The main usage of water in the school is for
drinking, washroom disposal, cleaning, food preparation, recreational purposes, in
laboratories, and gardening.
GYANKOSH -A Global School, Mahendragarh, ensures pure and safe drinking water for all
the students and faculty. They have installed RO purifiers cum water coolers in their institute
which ensures easy availability of water to each and every individual. Purifier is located in
every floor of the building which is easily accessible to the students. Toilets in GYANKOSH

sanitation facilities. Having proper water supply in washrooms also encourages user-friendly
sanitation and menstrual hygiene.

Conserving water saves energy and hence every student should understand the importance of
water conservation. The school has put sign boards near wash basins to remind students to
turn off taps as soon as they wash their hands. There are water efficient devices in the
washrooms like faucet aerators, dual flush toilet, etc. which contributes to saving water in the
school.

ELECTRICITY FACILITY

Electricity in schools is a part of basic infrastructure requirements to provide
quality education. With electricity, the schools’ access to modern methods and
techniques of teaching helps holistic development of students and increase their
attraction towards learning. Access to information and communication technologies
(ICTs) methods and imparting knowledge of computer at schools requires reliable
electricity connections. It then becomes obvious that schools having quality and reliable
power would generally tend to have the facilities that the government is providing under
its various schemes.
GYANKOSH -A Global School, Mahendragarh, excels in ensuring access to
quality infrastructure. The school has taken various measures to ensure uninterrupted
electricity throughout the day. A separate generator cum electrical room has been
established away from the main academic buildings in order to ensure safety. The entire
operations related to electricity distribution are controlled from here. The state of the art
machines have multiple levels of safety features that ensure safety, security and
reliability.

Along with this, there are HT (High Tension) Panels on all floors that enable
easy control over the electric flow. All Staff members are given basic training on how to
turn it on and off in case of an emergency. The circuit breakers are placed at a
convenient height, safe from the reach of children, but also at an easily accessible height
for the staff. The Fire safety equipment such as dry powder fire extinguishers are
placed right next to the HT Panel to ensure easy and rapid emergency response. The
classrooms are well lit and well aerated by multiple fans. The halls and the other public
spaces are also well lit. Classrooms have multiple plug points and power plug points to
connect projectors and other ICT equipment. The school has succeeded in providing
quality electric facilities in order to ensure quality education for their students.

Morning assembly
Morning Assembly is a very important ritual of a school. It is also the age culture of our country.
Every new work Start with prayers to God. So, it is happening in Schools too. The day of the
school starts from morning assembly.
A well-organized morning assembly establishes a positive tone for teachers and students and
encourages community involvement, without cutting into precious instructional time.

Morning assembly is an integral part of the school's schedule of Gyankosh. The school bell rings at
8.10 a.m. then all the students and teachers gather on the campus of the school building for the
morning assembly. Students arrange themselves into columns according to their classes from
Nursery to 10 according to their heights.
The assembly starts with Morning Prayer and National Anthem which is followed by the following
activities

CulturalActivity

Modern education focuses on not only the academic development of students but also
their skill development. Cultural activities are sports or other activities that contribute to or
enhance the social development and appreciation of people. It is the development and
improvement of a person's mind, interests, preferences, and talents. The best strategy to teach
students personality-related abilities is to motivate them to take part in cultural events such as

athletics, music, dancing, and other activities. Sadly, not all parents think the same,
and they find it worthless to activities. The reality, however, is completely different because
cultural events help pupils build confidence and better understand their culture. To instil the
children a global outlook, it is absolutely necessary to engage the mini cultural activities as
well as the academic curriculum. Students individuality and self-confidence are developed
through this diverse range of activities. In addition, it teaches them life skills that will enable
them to succeed once they finish their academic careers.
GYANKOSH -A Global School, Mahendragarh offers its pupils several opportunity
to take part in cultural events on special occasions like the Annual Function, Independence
Day, Republic Day, and other significant celebrations.
Some of the important cultural activities in GYANKOSH -A
Global School Mahendragarh are:
Local festival celebration
Charity

Events Parades
Sports events

Dance and music competitions
Painting competitions
Debates and speeches

Dramatics

VEHICLE PARKING

Parking is also an essential component of the transportation system, especially
in dense urban areas where land is at a premium. Parking management
systems can help keep disasters at bay, as parking traffic during peak hours
can increase by up to 50% as compared to non-peak hours.
Here are some benefits of vehicle parking school:
• Reduced traffic congestion
• Better parking organization
• Easier flow
• Secured parking space for employees and students
• Digital key sharing via free mobile application
• Special parking space for parents with small children

CONCLUSION

The week-long experience at GYANKOSH A Global School, Kharkhara,
(Akoda) Mahendragarh has made me realize the intricacies of being part of a large
institution like. The role of a teacher isn’t merely restricted to teaching. It involves so
many other functions which include administrative and guiding roles. The interactions
with the teachers, students and the administrative staff were eye opening and have
provided me with new perspectives about I along with my companions have gained
valuable insights that would guide us through our journey as trainee teachers and our
journey as teachers.
