22. All animals need food to live and grow, but different animals eat different kinds of food. Based on the food they eat, animals can be classified as herbivores , carnivores , or omnivores .

23. Herbivores Are animals that eat plants only. They are also known as “plant eaters.”

24. Cow, horse, goat, and carabao eat grass. Giraffe eats the leaves of plants. Rabbit also eats grass, cabbage, carrots, and other leafy vegetables. Some birds like parrots eat fruits and seeds. Butterflies suck nectar from flowers.

25. Carnivores Are animals that eat the flesh or meat of other animals. They are also known as “meat eaters.”
