3. WHAT IS ENERGY?
•Energy is the power to change things.Itis the
ability to do work.
•Energy lights our cities, powers our vehicles, and
runs machinery in factories. It warms and cools
our homes, cooks our food, plays our music, and
gives us pictures on television.
•It can neither be created nor be destroyed but it
can be transformed.

4. SOLAR ENERGY
It is basically the energy we
receive from the sun.
We receive 50%solar energy
on Earth’s surface while the
other 50% is being reflected in
the atmosphere. Out of 50% ,
49% is being used by humans
and only 1% is used by plants.

5. SOLAR PANEL
Solar panels are those
devices which are used
to absorb the sun's rays
and convert them into
electricity or heat.
A solar panel is actually
a collection of solar (or
photovoltaic) cells,
which can be used to
generate electricity
through photovoltaic
effect. These cells are
arranged in a grid-like
pattern on the surface of
solar panels.

6. SOLAR HEATER
Solar water heating
system is a device
that helps in heating
water by using the
energy from the
SUN. This energy is
totally free. Solar
energy (sun rays) is
used for heating
water. Water is easily
heated to a
temperature of 60-
80° C

7. TAU ISLAND
This island is located between the Pacific Ocean which is around 4000 miles away
from the America’s West coast.
The area of this island is approximately 50km². And have very less population.
Till 2016 they generate electricity to diesel generator which is 100% depend on
fossil fuels.
But then Tesla and Solar City collaborated together and made the island 100%
solar Island by establishing more than 5000 solar panels and 60 + Tesla power
pack which have huge batteries to store energy , with this even if there is no
sunlight for 3 days the energy would be stored in this power pack.
The total cost for making this is roughly 8 million dollars.
