SCIENCE Combating Irrationality Science combats irrationality by challenging traditional knowledge claims, myths, superstitions, and irrational behaviors. In the twentieth century, it has also aimed to debunk claims of inherent superiority linked to racism, sexism, and ethnocentrism.

SCIENCE 2. Preeminent Source of Cognitive Authority In contemporary Western society, science has emerged as the primary authority for understanding reality. TECHNOLOGY 1. Sustaining Private Corporations: Technology is crucial for modern institutions and private businesses, ensuring their survival and profitability. It plays a central role in enhancing efficiency and translating benefits to society.

TECHNOLOGY 2. Source of Personal Identity: In contemporary society, traditional markers like religion, race, and nationality are less defining.
