CONTENTS : Icebreaker Activity Introduction Types Of Self -Defen s e Law of Self Defen s e Conclusion

Icebreaker Activity "Stand Up If...“ "Stand up if you have a sibling“ "Stand up if you like pizza.“ Stand up if you have ever taken a self-defense class before. Stand up if you have ever carried pepper spray or another self-defense tool. Stand up if you have ever been catcalled or harassed while walking in public. Stand up if you have ever felt intimidated or threatened by someone in a public space. Stand up if you have ever had to defend yourself physically in a dangerous situation.

Icebreaker Activity Continued… Stand up if you know someone who has been a victim of assault or violence. Stand up if you believe that everyone has the right to feel safe and protected, regardless of their gender, race, or background. After each statement/stand up, students would be asked to share their thoughts or experience. Plus students would be given a chance to look around and see who else is standing up, and encourage them to connect with each other by sharing their experiences or thoughts on the topic Finally, students would be asked to take a seat and topic of self defense would be introduced, trying to relate it to the common experiences and concerns that are shared during the icebreaker.

Introduction Self-defence is a countermeasure that involves defending the health and well-being of oneself from harm . The use of the right of self- defense as a legal justification for the use of force in times of danger is available in many jurisdictions , but the interpretation varies widely.

Types of Self Defen s e Physical Mental

Physical Self Defen s e Physical self-defense is the use of physical force to counter an immediate threat of violence. Such force can be either armed or unarmed. In either case, the chances of success depend on a large number of parameters, related to the severity of the threat on one hand, but also on the mental and physical preparedness of the defender.

Mental Self Defen s e Mental self-defense is the ability to get into the proper mindset for executing a physical self-defense technique. Many martial arts schools and self-defense classes focus primarily on the physical nature of self-defense and often neglect the mental aspect. If you are skilled in the physical aspects of a defensive technique, but lack the mental toughness and tenacity to execute it, you will not be able to perform - especially under certain conditions.

Law of Self De f en s e The use of reasonable force to protect oneself or members of the family from bodily harm from the attack of an aggressor, if the defender has reason to believe he/she/they is/are in danger. Self - defense is a common defense by a person accused of assault, battery or homicide.

Conclusion Knowing self- defense is not just about knowing moves. Its about knowing your surroundings and getting out of dangerous situations. Having done the research I do believe that it will help me and you in the future should something happen.
