A verb is a word that indicates a physical action (e.g., “drive”), a mental action (e.g., “think”), or a state of being (e.g., “exist”).
Three Tenses of Simple Aspects of Verbs Simple Present Tense It is used to describe an action that has taken place in the past and was completed. Simple Past Tense Simple Future Tense It is used to described habits, unchanging situations, general truths, and fixed arrangements. It is used to describe an action that has not yet happened.

For simple present verbs, most singular verbs add “s” or “es” at their end while plural ones take the base form of the verb. Simple Present Tense Example: plays / play studies / study He plays chess everyday. Joseph studies his lesson.
Simple Past Tense Regular verbs form their past by just adding “d” or “ed” at the end of them. But irregular ones may change their spelling. cooked Example: played danced We painted the house. I played basketball yesterday.
For the future tense verbs, they use the auxiliary verb “will” or “shall” plus the base form of the verb. Simple Future Tense Example: will play will open will study will practice We will visit our grandmother on Saturday. The store will open next month.
