Definition The simple present tense is used to describe: • Habits and routines • General facts • Feelings and emotions • Scheduled events
Structure Affirmative: Subject + Base Verb (+ s/es) Examples: She plays. / They study. Negative: Subject + do/does + not + Base Verb Examples: She does not play. / They do not study. Question: Do/Does + Subject + Base Verb? Examples: Does she play? / Do they study?
Usage • To express habits: I brush my teeth every morning. • To express general truths: The sun rises in the east. • To express feelings: She loves music. • To express schedules: The train leaves at 7 PM.
