The origins of Simplyfresh go back to a time when two Australia-based Software Engineers working with a group upon an idea. Sachin Darbarwar and Shweta Darbarwar are the Founders of Simplyfresh who come from an IT background with a strong understanding of the technology processes associated with farming techniques. It all began in 2013 at Shamirpet in a 9-acre farm that catered to Retail and Horeca segments in local markets. In 2014, Simplyfresh commenced its export operations. It’s then that the team realised the demand for such products and the need for safe and traceable agricultural produce. In 2018, the company raised close to USD 30 million through private equity investors. Soon after, Simplyfresh expanded its farming with a 150-acre facility in Arjunpatla , Siddipet . Simplyfresh was started with the aim of making available nutritious food that’s free of chemicals and pesticides. Simplyfresh uses farming technology based on AI, Climate Engineering and Hydroponics . Rain-harvested water is stored in a man-made lake on the farm and its capacity suffices irrigation utility for up to 6 months . All of this means, consumption of only 1/10th of the electricity and water than that required by traditional farming practices. Moreover , the greenhouses at Simplyfresh farms do not use coolants, air-conditioners or chemical-based cooling systems. They work with simple evaporative cooling technology that creates an environment that’s cooler inside. The elevated roof, completely retractable structures, UV shields and airways regulate the climate inside. All this is made possible owing to continued practice of intrinsic R&D. USE OF THECHONOLOGY
