BRIEF HISTORY OF SIWES The Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (S.I.W.E.S)was established by the federal Government of Nigeria’s Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in 1973 in order to bridge the gap existing between the theoretical based learning and the practical form of learning. This is necessary to solve the problem of lack of adequate practical skills.

REPAIRS CENTRIFUGE REPAIR problem : The machine was unable to spin FAULT : Broken rotor and worn out carbon brush Solution : The rotor was welded and the carbon brush was replaced SPIROMETER REPAIR PROBLEM : Display buttons weren’t working CAUSE : Disconnection of the wires SOLUTION : Used soldering iron and lead to solder the disconnected wires

14. Hemo -scale Repair: Problem : the machine being unable to turn on. Fault : the diode in the power-pack was faulty Solution : the diode was replaced with a new one. RECOMMENDATION I recommend incorporating interactive workshops, fostering stronger industry connections, and providing mentorship opportunities. additionally, offering specialized training sessions, enhancing communication channels, and creating a supportive learning environment can greatly enhance the program. organizing industry-led seminars and talks, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity, and offering financial assistance.

17. RECOMMENDATION In order to solve the problem of students not being able to find place of attachment or a good place to learn , the school should get a directory containing list of it’s friendly companies and their location to enable students to get placement easily and assign students to different work places where they will be able to acquire more knowledge on their field of study.
