Objective The objective of the project is to build the prototype of a smart incubator to monitor the vital parameters of the newborns in their neonatal period (First 4 weeks after birth). The smart incubator is capable of monitoring the baby’s body temperature and other vital parameters required by the doctor for examining the newborn. The incubator is based on IoT and other edge computing techniques.

Problem Statement Nowadays, because of modern culture and other related activities babies are born prematurely from mothers womb. The prematured babies need intense care and warmth. Otherwise the prematured new borns are prone to several infections pertaining in the environment. To overcome this problem, incubators are used to give artificial environment replicating the mother’s womb for the baby. In order to monitor the health parameters of the neonatal in efficient manner, we have proposed a smart incubator by integrating it with IoT .

Proposed Work The proposed smart incubator system will monitor the health index of babies and facilitate taking care of their health. So efficient medical services could be provided at appropriate time. Temperature sensor, Moisture sensor and gyro sensor are interfaced with controller in order to detect the room temperature, baby moisture level and body movement. If the room’s temperature exceeded a certain temperature, then the NodeMCU switches on the relay connected to the mini fan to lower the temperature and cool the baby, as well as prevent overheating.

Proposed Work Gyro sensor used to detect movement of baby and alerts the care taker through buzzer and heater is included to maintain the humidity condition to normal which is sensed by humidity sensor. When the moisture sensor detects bed wet condition, an alert will be sent to the parent for diaper change. Furthermore, the Monitored parameters are updated to the IoT. The arduino Uno microcontroller is used for controlling overall system. This system uses LCD for displaying monitored parameters.

Advantage The proposed smart baby monitoring system is cost effective and indulges in higher security along with different aspects.

Literature Survey S7 PROJECT WORK I – FIRST REVIEW S.No TITLE AUTHOR DESCRIPTION 1 Fog Computing in Healthcare Internet of Things: A Case Study on ECG Feature Extraction Tuan Nguyen Gia , Mingzhe Jiang based on IoT is to monitor humans health in real-time using ubiquitous health monitoring systems which have the ability to acquire bio-signals from sensor nodes and send the data to the gateway via a particular wireless communication protocol. Electrocardiogram (ECG) feature extraction as the case study as it plays an important role in diagnosis of many cardiac diseases 2 A Remote Patient Monitoring System for Congestive Heart Failure Myung-kyung Suh & Chien -An Chen This paper describes WANDA (Weight and Activity with Blood Pressure Monitoring System); a study that leverages sensor technologies and wireless communications to monitor the health related measurements of patients with t Congestive heart failure(CHF)

Literature Survey S7 PROJECT WORK I – FIRST REVIEW S.No TITLE AUTHOR DESCRIPTION 3 A Health-IoT Platform Based on the Integration of Intelligent Packaging, Unobtrusive Bio-Sensor and Intelligent Medicine Box Geng Yang, Li Xie It presents an IoT-based intelligent home-centric healthcare platform ( iHome system), which seamlessly connects smart sensors attached to human body for physiological monitoring and intelligent pharmaceutical packaging for daily medication management. 4 Interconnection Framework for mHealth and Remote Monitoring Based on the Internet of Things Antonio J. Jara this work presents an interconnection framework for mobile Health ( mHealth ) based on the Internet of Things. It makes continuous and remote vital sign monitoring feasible and introduces technological innovations for empowering health monitors and patient devices with Internet capabilities. It also allows patient monitoring and supervision by remote centers , and personal platforms such as tablets. In terms of hardware it offers a gateway and a personal clinical device used for the wireless transmission of continuous vital signs through 6LoWPAN, and patient identification through RFID.

Conclusion Broadening of technology has been swiftly surged. As technology is being evolved largely it can have a bigger contribution to the society in numerous approaches. An automated crib can be used conveniently by the working parents/guardians who are occupied with lots of work load and along with that they have the responsibility of an infant to care of. Baby monitoring system persuades the baby’s safety and security within the automated crib. The health of the infant is the highest priority of the parents always. Hence this baby monitoring cradle system is designed with the intention of a healthy infant/baby. Along with this the automatic baby cradle monitor will allow the professional parent/guardian to perform household chores alongside supervising the infant/baby hand in hand.
