Smart Irrigation Systems Enhancing Agriculture Through Automation

Our Project name is SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEM SMART IRRIGATION SYSTEM is the artificial application of water to the soil through various systems of tubes, pumps, and sprays. Presented by Team (A) Port City International University Course : Electronics Sessional Submitted to: Nafis Fuad Wasi Lecturer Department of EEE

INTRODUCTION Our project is a smart irrigation system which help people to saving time for plant maintenance. As we know If we plant a tree, it’s need at first water to survive and as a human we have to check the heath of newly planted tree and we have to give water. Our project solved this problem and it’s give water when it’s needs. When we implemented this project it’s helps a lot, if anyone have farm house and he/she just visited monthly, this project can helps to survive the plant. We also can upgrade this project for multiple uses with Arduno or NodeMCU and can convert this project to an IOT based project.

Benefits Water Conservation: Smart irrigation systems can reduce water usage by up to 30% by only watering when necessary, minimizing wastage . Increased Crop Yield: Precise irrigation ensures that plants receive the right amount of water, leading to healthier crops and higher yields . Cost Savings: By optimizing water and energy usage, farmers can save on operational costs. Environmental Impact: Reduced water usage and energy consumption contribute to environmental sustainability.

Challenges Initial Cost: Implementing a smart irrigation system can be expensive, which may deter some farmers from adopting the technology . Technical Knowledge: Farmers may need training to effectively operate and maintain these systems. Data Security: Protecting the data collected from sensors is crucial to prevent unauthorized access or data breaches .

Conclusion Smart irrigation systems are revolutionizing agriculture by enhancing water management and increasing crop productivity. Despite challenges, their potential to address water scarcity and improve farming practices is promising. As technology continues to evolve, these systems are expected to become more accessible and affordable, benefitting both farmers and the environment .
