Social Deviation Definition: “Behavior or action that is inconsistent or contrary to social values and norms in society .” “All human behavior, either individually or in groups that are inconsistent with the values and norms developed within the group .” ( Elly M. Setiadi & Usman Kolip )
Characteristics of Social Deviation According to Paul Horton, social deviation is characterized by: society defines the action as deviant the deviant is either absolute and relative the deviant is either acceptable or rejected emerging deviations from the real and ideal culture there are evasion and deviation norms (DA #1: find the definition and one example from each term above)

The Relationship between Socialization and Social Deviation The process of socialization can lead to the emergence of deviant behavior. There are two process of socialization which lead to deviant behavior: deviant learning process imperfect socialization process
Deviant learning process Definition: “ Individuals or groups do the process of socialization in the form of learning to do deviations. Individuals or groups consciously want to commit deviant.” (Question #3A, give one example)
2. Imperfect socialization process Definition: “ Agencies or socialization media that do not carry out a proper socialization process ” (Question # 3B, give one example)

Communities can invite, educate, and force citizens to comply with the prevailing social values and norms in society .
