ADVANTAGES OF SGES 1-Scalable: SGES can be easily expanded as long as the space is sufficient, while PHES has no expansion capability once it is built. 2-Efficiency : SGES has a high cycle efficiency (80%~90%) compared with other large-scale energy storage technologies (40%~80%). 3-Economical: Economics is fundamental in the context of generally high energy storage prices. Studies have shown that SGES is the most economical large-scale energy storage technology, even better than PHES.
ADVANTAGES OF SGES 4-Flexible: The geographical adaptability of energy storage technologies will determine their future development space; compared with PHES and CAES, SGES has better geographical adaptability. 5-Durable: SGES has a long life (half a century) and does not need to be replaced as often as BES (a few years).
