Meaning
•This an activity method of teaching.
•Source method is that method of teaching in which original or
secondary sources of information are used to explain a point
or verify a fact or describe an event.
•According to this method, the pupils are expected to build up
knowledge with the help of source material.
•A source method provides first hand information and leads to
better understanding of the subject.

What is a Primary Source?
•A primary source is a document or physical object which was
written or created during the time under study.
•These sources were present during an experience or time
period and offer an inside view of a particular event.
•Some types of primary sources include: ORIGINAL
DOCUMENTS : Diaries, speeches, manuscripts, letters,
interviews, autobiographies, official records, Original works of
art & literature, Photographs, Speeches
 
•CREATIVE WORKS: Poetry, novels, music, art
 
•RELICS OR ARTIFACTS: Pottery, furniture, clothing, buildings

What is a secondary source?
 
•A secondary source interprets and analyzes primary sources.
•A secondary source contains commentary on or discussion about a
primary source. The most important feature of secondary sources is
that they offer an interpretation of information gathered from primary
sources.
•Secondary sources may have pictures, quotes or graphics of primary
sources in them. Some types of secondary sources
include:PUBLICATIONS: Textbooks, magazine articles, histories,
criticisms, encyclopedias

which interprets or reviews previous findings
