3. INTRODUCTION What is Space Exploration..? Space exploration  is the physical investigation of outer space by  robotic space and through human spaceflight.

4. History of Space Exploration The first rocket that was able to fly high enough to be considered ‘in space’ was the V-2 Missile. This was a weapon developed by German scientists in the Second World War . The technology was used for rockets in early space exploration.

5. HISTORY OF SPACE EXPLORATION In October of 1957, the Soviet Union launched the first satellite, SPUTNIK-I , into low Earth orbit .It was the start of the “Space Age”. In response, the United States launched its first satellite , EXPLORER-I , January 31,1958.This started the Space Race.

6. FIRST LIFE IN SPACE Just a few weeks after the successful launch of Sputnik – 1, the Soviet Union launched another satellite, SPUTNIK-II. Sputnik 2 had a passenger for its journey, a dog named LAIKA. FIRST HUMAN IN SPACE On April 12 1961, Russian astronaut YURI GAGARIN became the first human in space, orbiting the Earth once. Gagarin travelled in a spacecraft named VOSTOK-I.

7. FIRST MAN ON SPACE In 1969, Neil Armstrong became the 1 st man to walk on Moon. The space shuttle name was Apollo 11.

8. INDIA’S SPACE EXPLORATION On 19 April 1975, India launched first satellite “ARYABHATA”. “ CHANDRAYANA-I” was India’s first lunar probe. It was launched by the Indian Space Research Organization in October 2008. India launched Rohini Satellite(RS-1) PSLV Success Chandrayaan-1 Mangalyaan Chandrayaan-2 Chandrayaan-3 Aditya-L1

9. ADVANTAGES OF SPACE EXPLORATION Learn more about space and planets. New technology for daily life(GPS, TV, Internet). Helps in weather reports and disaster warning. Creates jobs and supports industries. Useful for farming, navigation, and communication.

10. DISADVANTAGES OF SPACE Very Expensive Risky for astronauts Space junk pollutes Earth’s orbit. Money spent on space could be used for poverty, health, education. Technology may be used for weapons. No guarantee of success.

11. CONCLUSION Space exploration helps us learn more about the universe. Brings new technology useful in daily life. Has both advantages and disadvantages. Still, it is important for the future of humanity.
