At first she thought it was just a reflection of her hectic schedule. After all , most of her friends also seemed to complain of feeling tired. Then, as her skin seemed increasingly itchy and her eyes became sore by the time she finished work in the evening, she told herself that it was the result of spending too much time indoors. When she mentioned her symptoms during a routine check up at the doctor’s office, her doctor immediately prescribed a series of tests for her. A few days later , she was called back to the doctor’s office to learn that her symptoms were due to a condition called diabetes.
