About Split Personality People with split personality disorder feel like they are alternating between identities. They may feel like there are multiple voices trying to take control in their head. They often refer to their other identities as personality states, alters, parts, etc.

The Tell-Tale heart In this story the narrator creates a contradiction within himself. During day time he is different, and during night time he is different. During day time he is too much caring person, cares for that old man whom he wish to kill at night because of his vulture eye. He hates the one vulture like eye of an old man.

Insanity versus Rationality Rationality At one side the narrator protects his sanity by detailing the extreme acuteness of his senses. "I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I mad?" Insanity On the other side he describes his exact nature with which he went about committing that crime “If still you think me mad, you will think so no longer when I describe the wise precautions I took for the concealment of the body. First of all I dismembered the corpse. I cut off the head and the arms and the legs."

Films representing Split personality Deewangee Character name Tarang has split personality disorder. Aparichit Character name Ambi has split personality disorder

Simmilarities between Aparichit and The tell-tale heart During Day time the narrator is innocent At night the narrator show his evil side The narrator wish to kill the Old man During day time Ambi was innocent At night Ambi shows his danger and killer look Ambi wish to kill the cruel and corrupt person Both presents the common archetype of day and night, light and darkness. Something good represented by light and evil by darkness, accordingly the characters change their personality.

If w e think out of box then we get another symbolic meaning of Split personality Merely considering it as disorder is not the fair way of looking. “Two faced people with one identity……are more dangerous than ghost”

“Being nice to people is not called two faced, it’s called growing up… but being nice to people in-front of their face and spreading nasty talks behind them is called TWO FACED”
