SS3: Slide Presentation Tips Avoid too much information on slides no paragraphs use bulleted lists (7/7 rule) Ensure font is easy to see, use large font and high-resolution images headings 40-44 points text 24-32 points Use visual images on slides rather than just text Select appropriate slide designs to match the topic content
SS3: Slide Presentation Tips Match colours for easy readability no yellow on orange / pink on purple Avoid too many animations and transitions Use animation for lists and transitions for topic changing Use a consistent slide design ( same theme / fonts / animations) don’t mix cartoons and images as visuals

SS3: CLT REMINDER: What happens in a CLT classroom? (see Week 3 slide 18) Learner-centred classroom because target language use is a priority Teacher sets up contexts for speaking, writing, listening, reading, practicing and communicating meaning Provides opportunities to use the target language Learners work in groups or pairs with teacher supporting As learner confidence grows, teacher becomes facilitator Learners speak more than the teacher Classroom is noisy!
