REBALANCING LIFE AMIDST WORLDVIEWS

Overview

il y 7 à Part of the Growth Quest simulation used the ‘Life Worth Living’ EN

model (taught at Yale University) with Montana ‘Bitterroot’ Salish, Hopi, “A.
Lakota, and Navajo concepts, for helping with transitional growth.

Part Il of the Growth Quest simulation offers insights on rebalancing
life by attuning basic worldviews using Wounded Healer concepts.

Worldview Definition e

A worldview is a F
comprehensive conception of
the world from a specific
standpoint helping to orient
values, beliefs, attitudes, and
behaviors in life.”

Worldview is a dynamic
phenomenon that evolves
throughout the lifetime of a
person. Worldviews are
intimately related to feelings of
security, meaningfulness and
communal belonging in life.*

The Challenge Addressed by the EN
Worldviews Simulation Se

Worldviews can intensely collide
causing some people to sense a
growing dissolution of their ur
worldview. This can lead to greater
unease, chaos, and lack of EN za
meaningfulness in a life out of Scientific. = Religious

Importance of Wounded Healers EN
for Helping to Rebalance Life Se

In many Native American belief
systems, the concept of the

“wounded healer" holds significant -
importance.

—— The concept emphasizes individuals
===== who have experienced personal
suffering, trauma, illness, often
leading to an out-of-balance life, can
become powerful sources of healing
and wisdom for helping to restore
balance using insights arising from
their own wounded experiences and
rebalancing.

+ Lifelong Growth: Pursues a lifelong journey
of self-discovery and growth, constantly
seeking knowledge and understanding.

Calm in Chaos: Able to remain calm and
grounded even in the midst of chaos and

Native American Growth and Healing Reflection Activities for N
Rebalancing Life y

The Lakota phrase, ‘Mitakuye Oyasin’ (all
my relations) refers to their belief that
meaningfulness, growth, balance, and
healing from wounds and chaos in life
arises from a state of connectedness in
which all things and people are
recognized as interrelated.

Three Native American growth and
healing reflection activities for
rebalancing life are introduced in the
‘simulation:

- Four Directions Reflection
- Waterfall Sacred Place Reflection
- Eagle Visualization

‘We are all children of the Great Spirit.
May my words, prayer, song, and actions

be for the harmony and good of all.’ Lt 7 7) uc
