Chapter 11 – Surah Hud Named after Prophet Hud Makki Surah 123 Verses 10 Rukus
Surah Hud Cause of Revelation Warning for Munafiqeen that they will be tormented just like the people at the time of previous prophets. Summary Prophet Noah: The people rejected his message – destroyed by a huge flood Prophet Hud: People worshipped idols – tormented by Allah Prophet Saleh: Called the people to worship only Allah – Killed the Camel – Torment Prophet Ibrahim: Birth of Ishaaq and Yaqoob. Prophet Lut : Homosexuality – Rain of stones Prophet Shuaib: Deceived people – weighed and measured less – destroyed Prophet Musa: The Pharoah rejected his message and is consigned to hellfire

Surah Yusuf Cause of Revelation: Prophet (PBUH) was grieved by the death of his uncle and wife, and also by the tour of Ta’aif . To give hope to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to be patient and believe in Allah that soon He will relieve him from all hardships, like Hazrat Yusuf did. Summary: Childhood: Jealousy of brothers – thrown into a well – bought as a slave in Egypt Youth: Imprisoned by the accusation of Zulekha – Interpretation of dreams – King of Egypt restored him Reunited with family: Famine –brothers came to Egypt – Hazrat Yaqub regained his eyesight
Chapter 13 – Surah Ar-Ra’d Ar-Ra’d means “The Thunder” Makki Surah 43 Verses 6 Rukus
Surah Ar-Ra’d Cause of revelation: A long time had been passed since Holy Prophet had been conveying the message and his opponents had been trying to defeat him and his mission. On the other hand, his follower had been expressing the desire that by some miracle the disbelievers might be brought to the right way. Allah revealed this surah to advise the believers.
Surah Ar-Ra’d Summary: Creation, God Knows What Is In The Wombs Nothing Escape from God Guardian Angels Over Us To God Prostrate All & so do their Shadows No power to show any miracle without Allah’s sanction

Surah Al-Israa Cause of Revelation: T he time had come for the Holy Prophet to emigrate from Makkah to Al- Madinah and there gather together the scattered Muslims and establish a state based on the principles of Islam. These were the conditions when Miraj took place and on his return the Holy Prophet brought down the Message contained in this Surah.

Chapter 15 – Surah Hijr Al-Hijr means “The Stoneland” Makki Surah 99 Verses 6 Rukus
Surah Hijr Cause of Revelation: cautioning the individuals who dismissed the message and, providing solace and support to Muhammad (S.A.W)
Surah Hijr Summary: Al- Hijr (The Rocky Tract): refers to the people of Thamud and the rocky tract Lessons from Earlier Nations: Their ignorance and punishment of Allah. Who is Satan? : The one who vowed to mislead mankind and make disobedience attractive to them. Angels visiting Prophets Ibrahim (A.S) & Lut (A.S): Angels bringing glad tidings of having a son for Prophet Ibrahim (A.S). Angels elucidated to Lut (A.S) that he must leave with his family. Forgiveness & Kindness: Allah created the heaven and the earth and everything in between with a purpose. All will be questioned about their behavior.
Chapter 16 – Surah an- Nahl An- Nahl means “The Bees” Makki Surah 128 Verses 16 Rukus
Surah an-Nahl Cause of Revelation: Major portion is addressed to the idolaters and polytheists while Prophet Muhammad and his companions are advised how their behaviors should be in such a time of persecution.
Surah an-Nahl Summary: Al-Nahl (The Bee): The bee is one of many examples mentioned in this chapter of Allah's grace towards His creation. Allah’s blessing for humankind: Allah is the most Merciful & most Forgiving. Punishment for arrogance: Those who do not believe in the Hereafter are arrogant. The Good are rewarded: There are rewards in this world for the righteous but their home in the Hereafter is even better. False worship: Do not worship two deities because there is only One Allah. A warning to make things clear: The Quran was revealed in order to make the things they argue about clear, and it is a guidance and a mercy for those who believe. Allah gives examples: Everywhere around us, we see Power of Allah.

Surah Maryam Cause of revelation: Surah was revealed almost 6 years before migration to Medina, when non-Muslims had started physical abuse and socio-economic torture.

Chapter 20 – Surah Ta Haa The surah begins with طه ( Huroof -e- muqatta ) – Taha is also a name of Prophet Muhamad (PBUH) Makki Surah 135 Verses 8 Rukus It is the Chapter that convinced Hazrat Umer to convert to Islam.
Surah Ta Haa Cause of Revelation: Was revealed as Qurasih were making some vague remarks about Prophet Muhammad.
Surah Ta Haa Summary: Story of Mosses: Allah narrates how he escaped Pharoah and the worship of a golden calf by his followers. Day of Judgement: Allah provides details of events of day of judgement Punishment of turning from Quran: Allah says Whoever turns away from the Quran will bear a terrible heavy burden on the Day of Resurrection Story of Adam and Eve: Allah narrates the creation of Adam and Eve and enmity of Satan towards mankind.
