Support Afghanistan – Emergency Response
In the wake of a catastrophic 6.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Kunar and Nuristan
provinces in Afghanistan, more than 1,000 lives have been lost and 2,500+ individuals
injured. Entire communities, including homes and medical facilities, have been reduced to
rubble. The affected population—especially women, children, and the elderly—are in urgent
need of shelter, medical care, clean water, and hygiene support.

Penny Appeal USA has launched an active emergency response through trusted local
partners on the ground. Key relief efforts include:
●Deployment of mobile health units and rapid medical teams to deliver immediate
treatment and triage

●Provision of lifesaving medicines, trauma kits, and supplies to treat injuries

●Distribution of emergency shelter, clean water, and hygiene kits to prevent disease
outbreaks

●Specialized maternal and child health services to care for mothers, newborns, and
children during the crisis

●Rehabilitation of damaged health facilities so medical services can resume in
affected regions

Penny Appeal USA emphasizes transparency and accountability. In emergencies, the
organization may commit funding in advance, then use donor support to cover expenses. If
donations exceed the pledged amount, the excess is directed toward a General Emergency
Response fund or a Phase II campaign if the crisis continues.
