Surface Area Of Cube And Cuboid

What Is Surface? WHAT IS SURFACE AREA? Area occupied by the surface called surface area . 1 2 5 The uppermost or exposed portion of any object .

Surface area of cube and cuboid Difference Between Cube And Cuboid CUBE Cube is a shape having six surface, all the surface of the cube are square in shape. CUBOID Cuboid is also a shape having six surface , but all the surface are rectangular and only opposite surface are equal to each other .

Total surface area of cube l Surface area of square = l * l = l 2 Cube has 6 sides, So, total surface area of a cube = l 2 + l 2 + l 2 + l 2 + l 2 + l 2 =6 l 2 EXAMPLE : Find the total surface area of Cube taking length as 2cm? T.S.A.=6 (l) 2 = 6(2) 2 =6*4 =24 l

2. Suppose a cube having a length 5cm. Find out the surface area of that cube. Solution : T.S.A . = 6l 2 Surface area of cube =6(5)^2 =6*25 = 150cm 2

Total surface area of cuboid The sum of the area of the six rectangle is: Area of rectangle 1 = ( l*h) + Area of rectangle 2 = ( l*b) + Area of rectangle 3 = ( l*h) + Area of rectangle 4 = (l*b) + Area of rectangle 5 = (b*h) + Area of rectangle 6 = (b*h) = 2 ( l * b ) + 2 ( b* h) + 2 ( l * h ) =2 ( lb + bh + hl )
