1 Synthesis and Characterization of multifunctional mixed metal oxide
Layout… Introduction Publications stats Multiferroic Phenomenon Multiferroic orders Why multiferroics are fewer in nature Crystal structure of BiFeO 3 Properties of BFO Motivation Synthesis flowchart Characterization techniques Results and Discussions Applications 2
Introduction 3
Introduction Primary Ferroic orders: Ferromagnetism Ferroelectricity Ferroelasticity 4 Crystals can be defined as multiferroic crystals when more than one primary Ferroic properties exist in the same phase Switchable domains
introduction 5
very few Magnetic ferroelectric in nature. why? Chemistry promotes often functionality and prohibits the other 6
Crystal structure of BiFeO 3 Perovskite structure A B T N = 643˚K T C = 1103˚K a =3.96 Å or α=89.14 7
Properties of BFO 8 GOOD POINTS CHALLENGES High current leakage High coercive field S mall remnant polarization Environmental friendly Ferroelectric/anti-ferromagnetism High curie temperature
Motivation 9
