4. Procedures in Taking Body Measurements Body measurement is taken by; 3. CIRCUMFERENTIAL MEASUREMENT 1. HORIZONTAL MEASUREMENT 2. VERTICAL MEASUREMENT

5. SHOULDER Measurement is taken from the tip of the left to the tip of the right of the shoulder. Horizontal Measurement- is taken from left to the right of the body figure.

6. BUST POINT WIDTH Measurement is taken across from the tip of the left to the right of the bust point.

7. Vertical Measurement- taken from the top to the base of the body figure FIGURE BACK Measurement is taken from the center of the back shoulder over the shoulder blade down to the waistline level.

8. FRONT FIGURE Measurement is taken from the neck point passing over the bust down to the waistline level.

9. BUST POINT HEIGHT Measurement is taken from the neck point down to the highest point of the bust.

10. SLEEVE LENGTH Measurement is taken from the shoulder point down to the desired length of the arm.

11. LENGTH OF SKIRT/PANTS Measurement is taken from the waist down to the desired length.

18. ALWAYS REMEMBER: Time in constructing a garment is saved if body measurements are taken accurately. Accurate body measurements help produce correct patterns and well-fitted garments.

19. PERFORMANCE TASK : Students will pick a specific body measurement from the box and perform how to take the picked specific body measurement with the proper reading of unit of measurement. Students will be graded using the scoring rubric below. Each will be given 10 seconds for the activity.
