Data Interpretation Data Interpretation (DI) means nothing but understanding the given data to get inferences with the proper analysis of that data. To solve these types of problems, the usage of data interpretation tricks is important for effective time management and to save time in competitive exams by doing fast calculations. In this type of question, some data is provided in the form of tables or bar charts or pie charts or graph format , and questions are asked based on the given data. Our task is to answer those questions simply by interpreting and analyzing the data smartly. 2 Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science
How to solve Data Interpretation Questions quickly Data Analysis and Interpretation are just about playing with numbers using basic maths operations Additions, Subtractions, multiplications. Is it Right? Some data is given in the form of graphs, tables, charts. We need to analyze that data and answer the given questions. 3 Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science
How to improve the calculation ability Memorize some basic maths Mathematical tables up to 20. Squares of numbers 1 2 to 30 2 . Cubes of numbers 1 3 to 20 Powers of 2 up to 6. Powers of 3 up to 5. Fractional values 1/2, 1/3 ……… 1/20 2. Learn some fast calculation tips to save time Multiplication , Addition , Division, Approximation Percentage , average ,cubes, square roots and cube roots Comparison of fraction 3 . Skip time-consuming questions and do them at the end. Don’t waste time with lengthy calculations: 4 Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science
Data Interpretation Formulas We use some aptitude formulas in solving DI questions. Most Common questions are asking in this format from Percentages 1) X is what % of y that means x/y * 100. Eg : 72 is what % of 360 = [72/360]×100 =20% 2) What percentage is x of y? I.e. x/y * 100. 3) X is what percent more than y = x-y/y * 100 4) X is what percent less than y = y-x/y * 100 5) Percentage change between two particular values = [final – initial/ initial] * 100 5 Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science
