A presentation that I entitled "Transformation Through Stages", which involves 6 stages. This was done as part of my podcast with my fellow Imams Amin Muhammad and Na'eem Abdullah, as part of our weekly broadcast, The Black Imams Roundtable

1. Transformation Through Stages An exclusive presentation for the Black Imam’s Roundtable Presented by Imam Faheem, aka Fah Curry, the Garden State Warrior

2. 6 stages Realization - the moment where you know a change needs to happen (an “a ha!” moment) Release - letting go of the things that no longer serve you Rebound - the nurturing process of your mind, body and soul Reinvention - working to put yourself in alignment with your vision; new habits and behaviors Resurrection - Your outlook and mindset have begun to change; obstacles that held you back are no longer a problem Response - contribute to making a positive impact in your life, and the life of others

3. Realization Ma’rifah- the first obligation; knowing the right that Allah has over you “Verily, whoever knows himself will be busy with himself. Whoever knows his Lord will be busy with his Lord to the exclusion of anything else.” Ibrahim Ibn Adham, ‘Hilyatul ‘Auliya’

4. Release وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِي الْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّه “And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah..” [Qur’an 6:116]

5. Rebound فَمَنْ آمَنَ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ “So whoever believes and reforms - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.” [Qur’an 6:48] Tasawwuf- the science to fix the heart, clear the mind, and correct behavior; the science of refinement of the soul.

6. Revinention وَجَاءَ إِخْوَةُ يُوسُفَ فَدَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَعَرَفَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُ مُنكِرُونَ “And the brothers of Joseph came [seeking food], and they entered upon him; and he recognized them, but he was to them unknown.” [Qur’an 12:58]

7. Resurrection مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ‎ “Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do.” [Qur’16:97]

8. Respond اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ “O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life.” [Qur’an 8:24]
