DEFINITION
The Comprehensive Ranking System
(CRS) is a program through which
foreigners are scored for meeting
Canada’s immigration requirements.
NUMBER OF POINTS
In order to be allowed to move to
Canada, one must score a
minimum of 67 points.
The maximum score is 1200.
SCORING STRUCTURE
Under the Canadian CRS, the
points are awarded for:
studies;
work qualifications and
experience;
language skills;
age and marital status.
ACCESS TO THE EXPRESS
ENTRY STREAM
The CRS is a way to access the
Express Entry Program made of:
the Canadian Experience
Class;
the Federal Skilled Worker;
the Federal Skilled Trades.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Those who want to migrate to
Canada can take the CRS test online.
They need to submit specific
information based on which their
scores will be calculated.
PASSING THE TEST
To pass the test, one must gather
as many points as possible.
Good language skills, family
immigration, and work
experience can help.
The CRS test is mandatory when
seeking to obtain permanent
residency in Canada through the
