The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, commonly known as the “The Chicago
School,” is a graduate university offering comprehensive psychology studies to the students
prepared for the challenge. With more than 4,000 students, The Chicago School is amongst the
top rated psychology schools in the State offering graduate degree programs. More than twenty
degree programs are available for the students to do specialization in. The school is an active
member of the National Council of Professional Psychology Programs. The council has
recommended the services of The Chicago School and appreciated the contribution of The
Chicago School towards spreading professional psychology studies.
History of The Chicago School
The Chicago School was established by the practicing and experienced psychologists with the
goal of imparting professional psychology training to the students. Initial plans were laid down
in 1977, but the practical work started in 1979 with the collaboration of Psychology
Development Foundation. In 1980, The Chicago School began the temporary classes at the make
shift location on the West Avenue, Chicago. It was in 1986 when the school was shifted to
Dearborn Station. In 2004, The Chicago School was moved to Wells Street in downtown. The
expansion of the school and the inauguration of new campuses were completed in 2008. Offering
diverse and thorough training opportunities, The Chicago School is one of the most reputed
psychology schools in the area.

The Chicago School is accredited by WASC. Along with that, the college is a member of North
Central Association of Psychological Studies. The Illinois Board of higher Education has
approved The Chicago School to offer degree programs to the students. The American
Psychological Association (API) has accredited the doctoral program offered by The Chicago
School. Along with that, The Chicago School is an affiliate member of the non-profit TCS
education system, (TCS ES).
Locations The Chicago School
The East Coast Campus of The Chicago School was opened in 2010 in Washington, D.C. The
Midwest, or commonly referred to as the Chicago campus is located at the 325 N. Wells Street.
The university center of Lake County located in Grayslake offers psychology study as well as the
counseling programs to the students.
