Adam Timmis is Professor of Clinical Cardiology in the NIHR Biomedical 
Research Unit at BartsHealth Queen Mary University London. He chaired 
NICE guideline groups on investigation of stable chest pain (2010) and 
management of angina (2011), reviewed and co-authored the ESC stable 
angina guideline (2013), was former Editor of Heart (2006-2013), and is an 
executive member of the UK’s Farr Institute of Health Informatic’s Research 
and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Outcomes Research.
