Climate Because of the slanting rays of the sun and both the frigid zones are far from the equator………. During summer there is continuous daylight even at midnight. In winter, these regions have continuous darkness. Plant Life Because of permanent frozen soil, hardly any crops or plants grow here. But in summer when the snow thaws , some shrubs such as mosses, lichens and grass grow. A few flower-bearing plants and berry-bearing shrubs such as blu -berries, cranberries and wild currents are seen. Few people do grow a few vegetables for personal consumption.
