3. PLOT
•Hughie Erskie, a charming young man,
wants to marry Laura Merton.
•However, he has no money; all his
business goes badly…
•Laura´s father( the Colonel) doesn´t want
his daughter to marry a poor man.
•Hughie visits his painter friend Trevor.
•He is painting a portrait of a beggar.

4. •Hughie feels sorry for the poor man and gives
him some money.
•Some days later, his friend Trevor tells Hughie
the beggar was a millinaire(Baron Haughberg)
and was really interested in Hughie and Laura.
•Hughie feels completly stupid but thanks to his
behaviour, Baron gives him money enough to
marry and live happily even after.
