1. Darsheel Safary – He played the role of Ishaan Awasthi. He has a disorder called dyslexia. Darsheelan – Ram Shankar Nikumbh, Ishaan’s Art Teacher in the bording school. Tisca Chopra – Maya Awasthi, Ishaan’s mother. A very caring and loving mother. Vipin Sharma – Nandkishore Awasthi, Ishaan’s strict father. He always wanted his children to excel in class. Bugs Bhargava and Shankar Sachdev – Sen Sir and Tiwari Sir, respectively. Teachers at New Era High School whose attitudes changed towards Ishaan when he is already accumulating high grades.

3. Ishan is an 8-year old child who was experiencing a disorder which is called as dyslexia. It was disorder in which he has difficulties in reading and writing, and learning. As a learner, he can’t express well his taught and ideas through writing. He always failed and repeats grade 3 twice. However, he is a child that has a high imagination. Everything he sees, he can express it through art, through painting. As a child, he needs care from his parents especially that he has a disorder and I believe that care is the most important not only to a child like him, but also to every learners. Ishan has been bullied even by his teachers and was called as lazy, dumb and looser not even knowing what condition he is going through. He is a learner that must not be call by names but he is a learner that needs attention and patience to teach the fact that he is a very talented person in terms of art. 4. Ram Shankar Nikumbh as a teacher and as a human Ram Shankar Nikumbh is a teacher who sees the value of Ishan. He is a great teacher because he encourages and inpires his students. He is a teacher who cares to children so much and willing to extend his hands for help because for him he knew the feeling of having difficulties in life. He encourages Ishan that though he has disorder, he still can achieve his dreams in life since there are lots of geniuses who was once experienced what Ishan is experiencing, but was able to succeed in their lives. Though Ishan has a disorder, he still appreciate him because he is not a child who has no future. He believes in what Ishan can do especially in his art. He understands Ishan because he was also once like him that’s why he is a person who shows care to children especially with those who have disabilities. It’s not the disabilities that he can see, it’s the hardships and the pain he see that’s why he cares too much and inspires others that disability is not a hindrance.

5. Ishan’ s parents and brother Ishan’s mother is very loving and caring mother for her children. However, his father is very strict. What he wants for his children is be always on top and can’t even recognize the small things that Ishan can do. Ishan’s brother is talented that’s why his father always compares him to his brother. Well in fact, as parents they must still appreciate their children even if they are not that smart because everyone has its own talent and capabilities. We defer from each other.

6. The teachers in his first school The teachers in his first school focus more on the scores that the children got from their activities. They don’t give attention to students like Ishan and what they think is Ishan is only making excuses that he can’t read and write. They are teachers who focuses more on the students who are intelligent . They don’t understand their students first whether they have problems or none. What they really enyertain are thoae who have high grades in their subjects.

7. Teachers in the bording school The teachers in the bording school has virtue that they want to implement and that is respect and not the students abilities and talents. But, when Ram Shankar Nikumbh came, everything changed. When he came, he let the students to bring out their talents and abilities . He gives opportunity for each student and this was the reason why students like him . Then even his co-teachers changed the way they treat the students. A teacher like him is the best model to describe a professional teacher.

8. Plot of the Story

9. Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi s an eight-year-old boy who dislikes school and fails every test or exam. He finds all subjects difficult that’s why teachers and students belittle him, even his father. However, he was a good artist who loves painting. His mother is Maya Awasthi, a very loving and caring mother and his father, Nandkishore Awasthi is a very strict father who wants his children to always excel. Yohan was his older brother and was considered to be smart because he always ranked first in his exams. Ishan’s father was very disappointed by his son for he can’t even write a correct letter and can’t even read.After receiving a particularly poor academic report, they send him to a boarding school. There he sinks into a state of fear and depression, despite being befriended by Rajan, physically disabled and one of the top students in his class. His papers have always red marks and teachers call him looser and lazy students. However,Ishaan’s situation changes when a new art teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh, came. He was An instructor at the Tulips School for young children with developmental disabilities.

He has different teaching style is markedly different from othee teachers and he quickly observes that Ishaan is unhappy and contributes little to class activities.Because of that,he reviews Ishaan’s work and concludes that his academic shortcomings are indicative of dyslexia. He went to visit Ishan’s parents and asks if he can see more of their son’s work. He noticed patterns of his mistakes and got the same mistakes but,he was stunned by the sophistication of one of Ishaan’s paintings, and tells his parents that Ishaan is a bright child who processes information differently from other children in his class, but Ishaan’s father is suspicious that the explanation is simply an excuse for his son’s poor performance. Nikumbh demands that he read some Japanese text on a box and berates him when he cannot, giving him a glimpse into Ishaan’s experience of school. Nikumbh describes dyslexia to them and explains that it is not a sign of low intelligence. He tells them he can provide extra tutoring that will help Ishaan, highlighting the boy’s artistic ability evident in his many paintings and other creative works.

11. Nikumbh brings up the topic of dyslexia in class, and offers a list of famous people who were dyslexic. After that, Nikumbh asks Ishaan to remain behind and reveals to him that he too experienced the same difficulties with dyslexia. Nikumbh then visits the school’s principal and obtains his permission to become Ishaan’s tutor. He attempts to improve Ishaan’s reading and writing by using remedial techniques developed by dyslexia specialists; Ishaan soon develops an interest in language and mathematics, and his grades improve. At the end of the school year,Nikumbh organises an art fair for the staff and students. The competition is judged by artist. Ishaan, with his strikingly creative style, is declared the winner and Nikumbh, paints the face of Ishan. The principal announces that Nikumbh has been hired as the school’s permanent art teacher. When Ishaan’s parents meet his teachers on the last day of school they are left speechless by the transformation they see in him. Overcome with emotion, Ishaan’s father thanks Nikumbh. As Ishaan is getting into the car to leave with his parents, he turns around and runs toward Nikumbh.

12. Reflection In the story of “Every Child is Special”, we can see a student like Ishan who has a disability but most teacher doesn’t recognize him and doesn’t treat him well. Aa a future educator, I see this as a challenging taak when in case I encounter a student like this in the future. For me aa A teacher, we shy be like Ram Shankar Nikumbh who exrends his hands to help children who are need. Every teacher should not give a special treatment only to those who Excel in rheir subjects. They should give opportunity to eveey learner equally and they must see to it that every learnee can able to perform eveey activities they are giving. Teachers must be aware of the conditions that their students are experiencing and they should be the one to encourage those learners who thinks of giving up. Every child has their own capabilities. People who have disabilities are more talented that normal people. Ishan, who has dyslexia, has a difficulty in reading and writing but was a great painter. That’s why teachers must understand that children excel in different categories and that they have different talents.

13. Philosophy applied I think it is the “Every Child is Special”, a philosophy that was applied by Ram Shankar Nikumbh. For him he believes that A child is a gift of God, a blessing, a picture of purity and innocence. Every child is special, who enriches and cleanses the soul, an empty canvas, waiting to be painted with love. Evey child is special despite having disorders like Ishan experiencing dyslexia. He believes that though Ishan has difficulties in reading,, writing and learning, it doesn’t mean that he has no future. This disability doesn’t mean that a person is not intelligent or has below average intelligence. Every Child is special in their own way.
