The one that gains the electron is going to have a negative sign

TRENDS IN THE PERIODIC TABLE THE PERIODIC TABLE BY: PAW BEIB

THE PERIODIC TABLE Periodic table is a table in which chemical elements are arranged according to electron configuration, atomic number and reactivity. In a periodic table, we have 8 groups and 4 periods. Whereby, group 1 elements are metals and are more reactive, since they are more attracted to the nucleus and they have few shells. And group 8 elements are non reactive since their shells are full of electrons. And other groups like group 7 is also known as a salt producer.

TRENDS IN THE PERIODIC TABLE The first trend is the atomic radius. Atomic radius is the distance from the nucleus to the outermost shell. We can find elections in shells, whereby, they have negative sigh and in the nucleus, we find protons and neutrons.

TRENDS IN THE PERIODIC TABLE The group one elements are more attractive to the nucleus because they have few electrons like lithium and sodium. As we go down the group (1), the atomic radius increase And across the period, it decreases

TRENDS IN TH PERIODIC TABLE The next trend id electronegativity. Electronegativity is when one atom attend to have more electrons than the other. The one that gains the electron is going to have a negative sign And the one that loss an electron is going to have a positive sign because one electron has been moved.

TRENDS IN THE PERIODIC TABLE The other trend is the ionization energy. It is defined as the energy that is needed to remove an electron from an atom. As we go down the group, the ionization energy increases because of an increase in atomic radius While as we go across the period it decreases

TRENDS IN THE PERIODIC TABLE The other trend is the metallic character. In the periodic, we have some elements that sometimes they act as the metals and sometimes as the nonmetals
