Introduction The dictionary defines obedience as “complying or willing to comply with orders or requests; submissive to another's will.” Obedient leaders are leaders who respond to the call of service and follow keenly the instructions that come with it. 7. Introduction Cont’d Obedient leaders are servant leaders . The heart of a servant leader is about being able to be obedient enough to help others. 8. More On Obedience The relevance of every information, instruction, or knowledge is seen in its application by obeying or doing it. Obedience is the only sure measure of successful listening. It takes the obedience of men to lead to the fulfilment of God’s prophecies and His intentions on earth (Isaiah 6:8). 9. More On Obedience Cont’d Obedience to certain instructions from God will come with a great cost or price to pay – selflessness (Genesis 21:1,2). Obedience to certain instructions from God will require risk taking and certain instructions will not make sense in their natural point of view (Genesis 12:1,9,10). God doesn’t demand our understanding; He demands our obedience. 10. More On Obedience Cont’d Obedience is the enabler of the authority of a servant leader . Jesus Himself chose to be obedient to the Father as a way to model the essence of servanthood. 11. Why Obedience? Obedience demonstrates our faith and trust in God ;  Obedience is the key to our success (Joshua 1:8). Obedience is the sure and promised way for unlocking blessings for our lives.
