Lanigan
Patrick Lanigan, a lawyer, dies in a car crash. Later, the partners in his law firm
discover that Patrick is not really dead. He is living in Brazil, and he has 90
million dollars of his partners money. He took another name Danilo Silva. He
was kidnapped in the street of Ponta Pora, a small town on the border between
Brazil and Paraguay. Four years ago this thin man had another appearance.
People from whom he stole the money found him. Patrick is taken to Paraguay
and tortured to reveal the location of the money, but he doesn’t know were the monye
is. He was in love with Eva Miranda.They together have dealt with the money.
FBI saved Patrick from death. Lanigan made a deal with FBI, if he return the
money and they released him. At the end Patrick began a new life but without his
love, because Eva betrayed him and took all rest money.

5. Setting of the story
The story takes place in 1992-1996 partially
in Ponta Pora, Brazil and partially in
North America. Characters of the story are
Patrick Lanigan, Eva Miranda, Jack
Stephano, Benny Aricia, Joshua Cutter,
Trudy, Lance and Sandy McDermott.

6. The Plot
Danilo Silva was kidnapped in the street of Ponta Pora, a small town on
the border between Brazil and Paraguay. Four years ago this thin man had
another appearance and his name was Patrick Lanigan. He was a lawyer.
Patrick sends a signal to his beloved Eva Miranda in Rio and she
understood that he was found. She calls FBI agent Joshua Cutter and tells
him that hired detective Jack Stephano, who was searching for Patrick for
four years finally had reach his goal and Patrick is in danger. FBA agents
require the detective to pass Patrick Lanigan to their agency. Patrick stole
$ 90 million from Benny Aricia, and for this Jack Stephano looking for
him. Patrick with his love Eva earned a lot of money on the fact that they
gave information about his whereabouts.

7. Patrick was chared in murder and stealing. Patrick stole the money, but he
doesn’t kill anybody, he defiled the dead body. But Patrick paid to the
grandaugher of man whose body was desecrated 50000 dollars, so she
doesn’t accuse him in nothing. And also he return all money that he stole
with a large percentage. Instead of 90000000 he return 113000000 million
dollars. So he was removed from all charges. He wanted to start a new life
in Brazil, because he loves this country very much. He dreamed about
family life with Eva Miranda, and about their children. He imagened 5 or
may be even 10 children, big house and happy life. But at the end Eva
betrayed him, she left taking with her all money.

8. Conclusion
In conclusion I want to say that I agree with author that ideal
criminal can be only lawyer, because he know all the aspects of the law,
and he can cheat the system of law.
In this book also develop events related with love, but in the
background. It’s a pity that at the end of the story, when it seemed
that all Patrick's problems problems disappeared, the closest and the
most native person, betrayed him.
