4 Republic Act No. 7687, also known as the "Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994", provides for scholarships to talented and deserving students whose families' socio- economic status does not exceed the set cut- off values of certain indicators. S&T Scholarship under R.A. 7687 or S&T. Scholarship Act of 1994 (S&T Scholarship Program A) 01 The DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program, formerly known as the NSDB or NSTA Scholarship under RA No. 2067, is awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and are willing to pursue careers in the fields of science and technology. INDIGENOUS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IN THE PHILIPPINES 15 Indigenous science and technology in the Philippines encompasses traditional knowledge, practices, and innovations developed by various indigenous communities over centuries. This includes sustainable agricultural methods, herbal medicine, handicrafts, and navigation techniques.

Albularyo: An "albularyo" is a traditional healer in Filipino culture who practices a combination of herbal medicine, massage, prayer, and spiritual rituals to diagnose and treat various ailments. They often have a deep understanding of indigenous plants and their medicinal properties, as well as knowledge passed down through generations. Albularyos are highly respected within their communities and play a significant role in providing healthcare, particularly in rural areas where access to modern medicine may be limited. 19 Albularyo
