The Spirit of Counsel

Knowing how the Spirit of Counsel works in the Bible, and applying those principles in our lives.

1. Isaiah 11:2 (NKJV) 2   The Spirit of the  Lord  shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the  Lord . Isaiah 11:2

3. Let’s review the first three mentioned Spirits

4. The Spirit of the Lord Is the one that gives us anointing for miracles Dominion over all circumstances. Lordship. Once dominated the foe you will enjoy peace. Gives us victory in everything we put our hands on. Others will follow your leadership into battle.

5. The Spirit of Wisdom Skillful in your doings, work and calling. Prudent. Showing Excellent judgement. Biblical wisdom.

6. The Spirit of Understanding Releases in us, God’s given Intelligence. Ability to acquire knowledge and apply it. Deep insight of Scriptures Knowledge of Jesus.

7. KJV Dictionary Definition: Counsel Advice; opinion, or instruction, given upon request or otherwise, for directing the judgment or conduct of another; opinion given upon deliberation or consultation.

8. In a scriptural sense, purpose; design; will; decree. What thy counsel determined before to be done . Acts 4:28 To show the immutability of his counsel. Hebrews 6:17 Thou shalt guide me by thy counsel. Psalm 73:24 I have not shunned to declare to you all the counsel of God. Acts 20:27

9. Every purpose is established by counsel. Proverbs 20. Thou hast not hearkened to my counsel. 2 Chronicles 25:16

10. The Strategies of the Spirit of Counsel He is an Strategist

11. Isaiah 9:6  (NIV) 6  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called       Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,     Everlasting Father,  Prince of Peace. He lives inside of us! He knows all our troubles. He knows how to take us out of darkness. He is not confused by the mistakes we have done. He has an strategy for us to succeed

12. Exodus 14:15 (NKJV) The crossing of the Red Sea. 15  And the  Lord  said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. 16  But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. Remember the 10 Plagues of Egypt? What amazing strategies to defeat all the Egyptian gods. When Pharaoh though he has finally had his revenge, another great strategy save the Hebrew people and the Egyptian were exterminated

13. 2 Chronicles 20:15  (NKJV) 15  And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the  Lord  to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Hallelujah, the battle is not ours, it belongs to the Lord. We’ll see the amazing strategy that the Spirit of Counsel comes with, He is brilliant, he can cause the enemy to kill themselves!

14. 2 Chronicles 20:17  (NKJV) 17  You will not  need  to fight in this  battle.  Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the  Lord , who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the  Lord   is  with you.”

15. 2 Chronicles 20:21-22 (NIRV) Praising the Lord is the way to victory! 21  Jehoshaphat asked the people for advice. Then he appointed men to sing to the  Lord . He wanted them to praise the  Lord  because of his glory and holiness. They marched out in front of the army. They said, “Give thanks to the  Lord .     His faithful love continues forever.”

16. 2 Chronicles 20:22 (NIRV) 22  Now when they began to sing and to praise, the  Lord  set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.  23  For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they  [ e ] had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

Genesis 26:3-4 (NKJV) 3  Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.  4  And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;

19. Genesis 26:12-13 Good News Translation (GNT) 12  Isaac sowed crops in that land, and that year he harvested a hundred times as much as he had sown, because the  Lord  blessed him.  13  He continued to prosper and became a very rich man.

20. Genesis 26:12-13  (NKJV) 12  Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the  Lord  blessed him.  13  The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; WHAT A WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR! ONLY GOD CAN GIVE YOU SUCH COUNSEL!

21. Genesis 26:12-13  (NKJV) 12  Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the  Lord  blessed him.  13  The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; ISAAC KNEW HOW TO HEAR FROM GOD. HE KNEW THAT ONLY GOD COULD GIVE HIM A COUNSEL THAT DEFIED ALL HUMAN REASONING.

22. THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL IS THE ONE WHO GUIDE US

23. Isaiah 30:21  (NKJV) 21  Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. The Spirit of Counsel has a voice

24. The Spirit of Counsel Psalm 16:7  NIV 7  I will praise the  Lord , who counsels me;     even at night my heart instructs me. The Spirit of Counsel will internally instruct us and guide us. Even at night time while we rest, Counsel will speak to us and instruct us.

25. Acts 11:11-12 (NKJV) THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL WILL CONFIRM THINGS AND DELEGATE US TO DO HIS PURPOSES. 11  At that very moment, three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent to me from Caesarea.  12   Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house.

26. Acts 16:6 (NIV) 6  Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia,  having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL WILL NOT ALLOW US TO DO THINGS OUT OF THE PROPER TIME. WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT VISION AND DESIRE, BUT TIMING BELOGS TO THE LORD

27. Acts 16:7-8  (NIV) 7  When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus  would not allow them to.  8  So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas. THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL WILL NOT ALLOW US TO DO THINGS OUT OF THE PROPER TIME. WE MAY HAVE THE RIGHT VISION AND DESIRE, BUT TIMING BELOGS TO THE LORD

28. Acts 16:9-10 (NIV) 9  During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”  10  After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. THE SPIRIT OF COUNSEL WILL SPEAK TO US BY DREAMS AND VISIONS AND WILL RELEASE IN US CERTAINTY OF THINGS THAT HE IS CALLING US TO DO.

29. How to activate in us the Spirit of Counsel Ask ourselves: Is the Spirit of Counsel active in me? Remember He is in you! Are you in connection with Him, or Are you always looking for the counsel of other people? Sometimes when He tells you something it may sound illogical, but that is how the bible describes the great miracles.
