2. INTRODUCTION Cauterization is a medical practice or technique of burning a part of body to remove or close of a part of it. Cauterization is when electric current is passed through a metal instrument called an electrocautery device. The device can be in the form of a hand held pencil-like instrument or a larger instrument with interchangeable tips. The tip of the device is heated by the electric current, which causes the tissue to coagulate, sealing blood vessels and preventing bleeding.

3. DEFINITION “ Electrocautery, also known as thermal cautery , refers to a process in which a direct or alternating current is passed through a metal wire electrode, generating heat to cut or coagulate tissue”
