This study was chosen as understanding the academic performance of students
must be deepen and explored further.Our curiosity behind this study lies in our
greater concern to our fellow students for their education.This study aims to assist
educators gain significant insights to their own current practices and can also help
students be aware of their own academic practices.

Our study will be conducted at Mandurriao National High School in
Mandurriao,Iloilo City.

Our research aims to assist educators gain significant insights about their teaching
practices as well as helps our fellow students be equipped with the tools of
knowledge.The motivators behind students’ academic behavior or performance
had been investigated throughout the years but further understanding must be
consistently explored as there is still no clear comprehension.Especially if our
research gap about what kind of particular learning environment students are
being situated in has not been fully probed.

General research question: What causes some senior highschool students to succeed
and others fail academically when they are both experiencing the same strict
classroom setting?

RESEARCH QUESTIONS
Specific research question:
1.) What are their perceptions towards their strict classroom setting that influences their
academic behavior?
2.) How does their financial situation affects their perceptions towards strict classroom
setting?
3.) What are the positve and negative realizations students gained from their strict
classroom experience that affects their academic behavior?

Collection of data will be conducted to a population of senior highschool students
of Mandurriao National High School and samples will be focused on grade 11
HUMSS students.Interpretation and analysis of data will also be conducted after
the data gathering procedure.
How are you going to answer your research questions?
DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The population will be the senior high students of Mandurriao National High
School.The focused general samples will be the grade 11 HUMSS
students.Convenience sampling will be used to select participants and
respondents.Semi structured interviews,Combination of Both questionnaires, and
Focused Group Discussions will also be utilized in the collection of data.

Our study will be conducted in the Philippines.Specifically, at Mandurriao
National High School in Mandurriao,Iloilo City.The respondents will be semi-
structured interview in the school library as well as from Focused Group
Discussion.Combination of Both questionnaires will be given to them to answer in
their own respective houses.

Since the focused samples are from grade 11 HUMSS students of Mandurriao
National High School, 4 students from each respective sections will be selected
where there will be 2 males and females each.A total of 20 students from 5 sections
will be given respondents or subjects for our research.
Who will be your subjects?
SUBJECTS

Convenience sampling will be used to select our subjects.Four students,two males
and females from 5 grade 11 HUMSS sections.They will also be asked for their
academic status, one academic honor(A grade of 90 or above) and one average
grade(A grade of 89 or below) from both sexes will be particularly selected in
order to understand their perceptions from each respected academic capabilities.
