First title: RA 9165: Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Awareness and Importance for the Life of the Youth Sta. Cruz, Laguna RATIONALE: The goal of this study is to inform and raise public awareness of the devastating consequences drug addiction has on young people in Santa Cruz, Laguna. Considering the abuse of drugs is generally regarded as a severe social problem, particularly among youths. Several factors tend to impact teenage drug abuse. The most frequently found influencing factors discovered are peer influence and lacking parental or guardian care. This drug abuse research seeks to increase awareness of the various factors influencing youths in Santa Cruz Laguna, as well as to address particular challenges and provide appropriate ways to prevent youth from taking illegal drugs.

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this research is to identify risk factors in the community as well as factors that protects youths in high-risk areas like Santa Cruz Laguna. This study also aimed to educate young people about the potential dangers of drugs and the consequences of taking or using them. It aims to raise awareness of drug risks among all young people. The study can aid to reduce or eliminate young adult drug usage while also assisting them in transitioning their bodies from withdrawal to alternative activities such as exercise. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: The primary goal of this research is to determine how drugs affect the physical health and the lives of young people in Santa Cruz, Laguna. How do young people feel about their bodies going through withdrawal after consuming drugs? What other physical activities can young people engage in to stay away from consuming the substance ? How do you get away from the people who are pressuring you to do drugs ? What effects does drug usage have on the lives and minds of teenagers that make them more likely to commit crimes? Second title: RA 10054: Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009 Effectiveness for Less Accident in Sta. Cruz Laguna RATIONALE : The Republic Act 10054, or the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009, was enacted with the primary objective of improving road safety and reducing injury and fatality rates among motorcycle riders by mandating the use of standardized helmets. Given the increasing number of motorcycle users in the Philippines, including in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, this legislation plays a crucial role in addressing road safety challenges . In Sta. Cruz, Laguna, motorcycles are a popular mode of transportation due to their affordability and convenience. However, this popularity also comes with increased risks, as motorcycle-related accidents are a significant concern. Despite the helmet law's intention to enhance rider safety, there is a need to assess its actual effectiveness in this specific locality. The rationale for this research stems from the necessity to evaluate the effectiveness of the Motorcycle Helmet Act in reducing motorcycle accidents in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. By analyzing compliance levels, accident trends, and injury outcomes, the study will provide valuable insights into whether the law is achieving its intended safety outcomes.

Examine Enforcement and Awareness: To investigate the effectiveness of local enforcement strategies and public awareness campaigns in ensuring compliance with the helmet law in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Identify Challenges and Recommendations: To identify any challenges in the implementation and compliance with the Motorcycle Helmet Act and provide recommendations for improving road safety and legislation effectiveness in Sta. Specifically, the study seeks to address the following issues: Compliance Rates: To what extent are motorcycle riders in Sta. Cruz, Laguna adhering to the helmet-wearing mandate stipulated by Republic Act 10054? Criminology students, who are preparing for careers in law enforcement or related fields, must develop physical endurance, strength, and overall fitness to meet the demands of their future professions. The ROTC program, known for its rigorous physical training, provides a structured environment where students can enhance these physical attributes . However, the specific benefits of ROTC on the physical fitness of criminology students are not well-documented, particularly in the context of Union College of Laguna. This study seeks to fill that gap by examining how ROTC training influences key aspects of physical fitness, such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, and body composition. Understanding these benefits is crucial not only for improving the health and performance of criminology students but also for optimizing the integration of ROTC programs within criminology curricula. By providing empirical evidence of the physical benefits of ROTC, this research can support the continued inclusion and possible expansion of ROTC programs as an essential component of criminology education.
