INTRODUCTION
Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae . The disease affects the skin, the peripheral nerves, mucosal surfaces of the upper respiratory tract and the eyes. LEPROSY
EPIDEMIOLOGICAL FACTOR 1 Age:- Early childhood to old age. (Reported case 1 and half month) 2.Sex:- Both male and female Male are more prone to cause leprosy. 3.Social Factor:- Poverty, illiteracy, crowded place, unhygienic habits 4. Genetic factor:- leprosy is no inherited.
5. Source of Infection:- सर्वच कुष्ठरोगी सांसर्गिक नसतात , Multibacillary प्रकारचे कुष्ठरोगी अतिप्रमाणात सांसर्गिक असतात . 6. Infective Material:- Nasal and Throat secretion Wound discharge Article used by patient
MODE OF TRANSMISSION 1.Contact transmission a. Direct contact b. Indirect contact 2. Droplet transmission
हिंद कुष्ठरोग निवारण संघ ( HKNS), भारतीय कुष्ठरोग संघटनुसार वर्गीकरण 1. Interminate Leprosy:- Hypopigmented maculae 2. Tuberculoid leprosy :- less than 5 white patch, lepromin test + ve Peripheral nerve damage 3. Borderline leprosy :- 4 or more white patches
4. Lepromatous leprosy:- skin lesion are many and widespread 5. Pure neurotic leprosy:- no skin lesion Larger nerve or their branches enlarge
