commemorative dates in spain Camila Lopes and Thainá Ellen 2°D

Día de Los Reyes Magos On January 6th, Kings Day is celebrated in Spain, which in the country is known as Día de los Reyes Magos. In Spanish culture, Epiphany is more anticipated than Christmas Day, as it is on this date that family gatherings, meals together and the traditional exchange of gifts take place. Three Kings Day marks the end of the Catholic Christmas celebrations period. Therefore, on this day it is also customary to dismantle the tree, the crib and save all the Christmas decorations for the next year.

The celebration of Three Kings' Day is one of the most important moments in Spain's traditions, eagerly awaited. It is a time of family celebration, which is characterized by the typical foods and the parades (Cabalgata de Reyes) that take place throughout the country. The celebrations of the date begin the day before, on January 5th. It is also a tradition that on January 5th, children write letters with requests for gifts to the Magi.
