INTRODUCTION I did my summer training in biomedical department at Fortis hospital for one month. This training report gives an overview of different medical equipments that are being used in various departments like critical and Intensive Care Units, Imaging and Radiology unit, Neonatal unit of the hospital .

ECG(Electro cardio gram) Make: GE health care Model: MAC 2000 ECG was invented by Willem Einthoven in 1895. Electrocardiography is the process of producing a   recording – a graph of voltage versus time – of the electrical activity of the heart using electrodes placed on the skin. 

ULTRASOUND Make: Philips health care. Model: Affinity 50g. Ultrasound  is sound waves with frequencies higher than human audible limit.

CT Scan Make: Siemens Model: Somatron CT Scan makes use of computer-processed combinations of many X-ray measurements taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional (tomographic) images (virtual "slices") of specific areas of a scanned object, allowing the user to see inside the object without cutting.

MRI(MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING) Make: Siemens Model: Magnestron Magnetic resonance imaging  ( MRI ) is a type of scan that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body

PMS(PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM) Make: Philips Model: intellivue mx 430 It is used for  monitoring physiological signals including Electrocardiograph (ECG), Respiration , Invasive and Non-Invasive Blood Pressure, Oxygen Saturation in Human Blood (SpO2), Body Temperature.

VENTILLATOR Make: Drager Model:v500 A  ventilator  is a machine that helps you breathe. It is also called a breathing machine or respirator. The  ventilator is attached to a computer with knobs and buttons that are controlled by a respiratory therapist, nurse, or doctor.

Anaestasia machine Make: Drager Model: a500 An anaestasia machine is a medical device used to generate and mix fresh gas flow of medical gases and inhalation anaesthetic agents for the purpose of inducing and maintaining anaesthesia.

X-ray Make: Siemens Model:Multiphos-15 An X-ray generator is a device that produces X-rays. Together with an X-ray detector. It is used in medical imaging.

CONCLUSION In 4 weeks training I have done the equipment handling, detailed study of instruments and understand principles studied during biomedical engineering course
